In an unprecedented move, Mike Stevens was named both Newcomer of the Year and Runner of the Year at George's Gym in New Iberia, the town's only premier running club.  Mike has lost over 60 pounds and lowered his pace by several minutes per mile as well.  He is among the most consistent runners, seldom missing a mid week 5 miler or Sunday long run.  At his current rate of progress, he will be among the Berry's fastest runners by summer's end, likely overtaking all but high-stepping Randy Hebert and the cagey veteran Alan Hayes.  Modest to a fault, he shyly declined to be interviewed for this update.  He stands tall with arms folded in the center of the photo below.
