On a hot and humid morning, Leslie Corry continued her dominance of the female field by winning for the fourth year in a row in a time of 18:25.6, while overall winner Ray Ancelet finished in 17:06.8. Where quite often running is used as a means to drop a few pounds, Mother Nature did her best to accommodate us. The heat combined with the excellent efforts by all of the participants added up to one sweat drenched group of people crossing the finish line!
This is my 5th and final year to put on the Run For Kids' Sake for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Acadiana as I will be relocating out of the state next month. I would just like to extend a personal thank you to all of you that helped to make this such a wonderful event to be a part of over the years.
