THANK YOU

to all the runners, volunteers and sponsors that made this years Run For Kids' Sake such a success.

On a hot and humid morning, Leslie Corry continued her dominance of the female field by winning for the fourth year in a row in a time of 18:25.6, while overall winner Ray Ancelet finished in 17:06.8.  Where quite often running is used as a means to drop a few pounds, Mother Nature did her best to accommodate us.  The heat combined with the excellent efforts by all of the participants added up to one sweat drenched group of people crossing the finish line!

This is my 5th and final year to put on the Run For Kids' Sake for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Acadiana as I will be relocating out of the state next month.  I would just like to extend a personal thank you to all of you that helped to make this such a wonderful event to be a part of over the years.  With that in mind I owe a bit recognition to one of our sponsors...

For the past two years my pal George Sobiesk has sponsored the Run For Kids' Sake at the Bronze Medal level along with providing the funds for the New Course Record Award.  And for the past two years the race director (AKA Me) has forgotten to put any information into the race packets touting the beneficial services that this Podiatrist can offer the Acadiana running community.  George's office at 4212 West Congress (993-0600) offers complete foot care.  As an accomplished triathlete himself, George has a working knowledge of the many issues we athletes can encounter.  If you or anyone you know needs some help in relation to a foot injury, George is the man to talk to!  I speak from experience.
